SENATE RESOLUTION 81

Senator Erich M. Fabricius submitted the following report regarding Senate Resolution 81, "An Act to Provide a Special Rule for the Consideration of Bills of Reapportionment", on Wendesday, March 20, 2002, on behalf of the Government Operations Committee, and pursuant to its March 6, 2002 recommendations, by general consent:

Attendance:

There were seven (7) Senators (Denton, Fabricius, Joyner, Mangum, Tatum, White, Wright) present;

There are one (1) Senator (Brown) absent;

A quorum was present.

Purpose of the Legislation:

The Reapportionment Rule provides provisions to regulate the consideration of reapportionment.

Background Information:

The Senate adopted a reapportionment in the form of GB 67, which contained many the provisions of the GB 82 reapportionment.

Debate:

The committee saw the reapportionment issues as closed for the session.

Recommendations:

The Committee recommends no further action on the Reapportionment Rule.
