GOVERNMENT BILL 75

Senator Erich M. Fabricius submitted the following report regarding Government Bill 75, "An Act to Amend the Student Body Constitution to Provide Irrefutable Clarity Regarding Apportionment and Provide Equal Rights of Representation to all Enfranchised Students of NCSU", on Wendesday, March 20, 2002, on behalf of the Government Operations Committee, and pursuant to its March 6, 2002 recommendations, by general consent:

Attendance:

There were seven (7) Senators (Denton, Fabricius, Joyner, Mangum, Tatum, White, Wright) present;

There are one (1) Senator (Brown) absent;

A quorum was present.

Purpose of the Legislation:

The Apportionment Rights Amendment proposes a referendum that clarifies the constitutional provision on proportional representation.

Debate:

The sponsor requested the Committee discontinue consideration. The Committee saw no reason to do otherwise.

Recommendations:

The Committee recommends no further consideration of the Apportionment Rights Amendment.
