SENATE RESOLUTION 91

Senator Erich M. Fabricius submitted the following report regarding Senate Resolution 91, "An Act to Provide for the Adjournment Sine die of the 2001-2002 Session of the North Carolina State University Student Senate", on Tuesday, April 2, 2002, on behalf of the Government Operations Committee, and pursuant to its March 25, 2002 recommendations, by general consent:

As provided by Senate Rule 12(b), the committee requests that the Senate President place Senate Resolution 91 on the calendar for second reading.

Attendance:

There were seven (7) Senators (Brown, Denton, Fabricius, Joyner, Mangum, Tatum, Wright) present;

There are one (1) Senator (White) absent;

A quorum was present.

Purpose of the Legislation:

The Adjournment Sine Die, Senate Resolution 91, sets a date for the end the present Senate Session, per Senate Rule.

Debate:

The Committee debated whether or not to include whereas clauses, as traditional. While the Committee was not opposed to such, it deemed it to be less important than other matters before the committee, therefore leaving the matter up to floor amendment.

Recommendations:

The Committee recommends the Senate consider Senate Resolution 91, the Adjournment Sine Die.

Committee Amendments:

There were no amendments.
