Senator Erich M. Fabricius submitted the following report regarding Government Bill 49, "An Act to Provide for and Properly Regulate the Use of Student Body Commissions", on Friday, April 5, 2002, on behalf of the Government Operations Committee, and pursuant to its April 1, 2002 recommendations, by general consent:

Attendance:

There were seven (7) Senators (Denton, Fabricius, Joyner, Mangum, Tatum, White, Wright) present;

There are one (1) Senator (Brown) absent;

A quorum was present.

Purpose of the Legislation:

The Student Body Commission Act is legislation necessary to carry out the provisions of the Student Body Constitution regarding Commissions, committees of the Student Body.

Debate:

The provisions of this bill were recommended as part of the Omnibus Executive Branch Act, Government Bill 86. The committee saw no need for a duplicate bill.

Recommendations:

The Committee recommends no addition action on the Student Body Commission Act.
