The University Affairs Committee met at 5:00 PM on Thursday 1/24/02. We set Wednesday, April 10th as our working date for Nightwalk and discussed a number of other issues. Jennifer Bell attended the meeting and was very helpful. We will be working with her and Parents and Constituents Services to develop and improve the student handbook among other things. The committee discussed the issue of campus groups using sidewalk chalk to advertise events and examined the chalk policy proposed by Mike Wallace and other members of the faculty. Additionally, we laid out a number of tangible goals for the committee this semester, including the prospect of hosting a second event possibly in order to promote credit card safety and awareness or something in conjunction with Student Health and the Counseling Center. We are very optimistic about the new semester and accomplishing our goals.
