RESOLUTION 50

Chairman Andrea DeWees submitted the following report regarding Resolution 50, "Student Choice Act", on Wednesday, March 19th 2003, on behalf of the Academics Committee, and pursuant to its Wednesday, March 19th 2003 recommendations, by general consent:

As provided by Senate Rule 14(b), the committee requests that the Senate President place Resolution 50 on the calendar for second reading.

Attendance:

There were four (4) Members (DeWees, Sipe, Spencer, Zink) present.

There were three (3) Members (Marks, O'Grady, Ogbon) absent.

A quorum was present.

Purpose of Legislation:

To suggest the developement of the Alternative Research Committee (ARC) to investigate possible alternatives to the use of killed animals in the undergraduate classroom in addition to developing policies that would protect the learning experience of students.
