RESOLUTION 81
Chairman Amudhanvel Dhinagaravel submitted the following report regarding Resolution 81, "AN ACT TO CALL UPON THE UNIVERSITY TO PROVIDE AN ELECTRONIC MEDIUM FOR SENATORS TO CONTACT THEIR CONSTITUENTS", on Monday, November 10th 2003, on behalf of the Academics Committee, and pursuant to its Sunday, November 9th 2003 recommendations, with 8 members voting in the affirmative and 0 in the negative:
As provided by Senate Rule 14(b), the committee requests that the Senate President place Resolution 81 on the calendar for second reading.
There were eight (8) Members (Adams, Cobb, Dhinagaravel, Hinton, Humphrey, Mallner, Reese, Ricker) present.
There were four (4) Members (Brian Anderson, Brobst, Lowther, Stallings) absent.
A quorum was present.

To provide a means for senators to contact their constituents
1. Problems of spam were considered. Sen. Palin said that there would be a moderator for the listserv.
1. Careful filtering of emails.
2. Option to opt-out should be provided.
3. Each senator for a college should be able to view the messages
