Committee Minutes, Sunday, November 30th 2003

Secretary Forrest Hinton submitted the following report on Sunday, November 30th 2003, on behalf of the Academics Committee, and pursuant to its Sunday, November 30th 2003 recommendations:

Attendance:

There were six (6) Members (Adams, Cobb, Hinton, Lowther, Reese, Stallings) present.

There were five (5) Members (Brobst, Dhinagaravel, Humphrey, Mallner, Ricker) absent.

A quorum was present.

The following official was also present: Fabricius

Meeting Minutes:

Meeting was called to order by Vice-Chair Stallings.

I. President Fabricius introduced a proposal to create legislation regarding library budget and the increased price of the Elservier subscription. Senator Stallings volunteered to write a resolution supporting the decision of the Faculty Senate.

II. Senator Stallings resigned as Academics Vice-Chair. Senator Reese was nominated and voted in to the office.

III. Resolution 91 was brought forth, discussed, and set aside to wait for more information from the university.

IV. Senator Hinton advertised a resolution-in-draft regarding the creation of an Admissions Criteria Task Force.
