Committee Minutes, Monday, August 25th 2003
Chairman Mark Matthews submitted the following report on Tuesday, August 26th 2003, on behalf of the Committee on Rules, and pursuant to its Monday, August 25th 2003 recommendations:
There were five (5) Members (Hutcherson, Matthews, Moody, Palin, Price) present.
There was one (1) Member (Efe) absent.
A quorum was present.
SR 09, SR 15, SR 01, SR 08 are placed on the expedited agenda by consent.
SR 42 is drafted and recommended by consent.
SR 43 is recommended by consent.
SR 44 is recommended by consent.
After much deliberation, SR 45 is recommended by a vote of 3-2.
SR 46 is recommended by consent.
SB 07 was discussed. There were three possible interpretations as to what the bill should do. The committee agreed that the senator's intent was that the issue pertained to fee-recieving groups providing funds to senators. Senator Palin agreed to draft an appropriate version of the bill for the next meeting, based on that interpretation.
