SENATE RESOLUTION 103
Chairman Mark Matthews submitted the following report regarding Senate Resolution 103, "A RESOLUTION TO BE ENTITLED A RULE CONCERNING THE FAST-TRACK CONSIDERATION OF THE ELSEVIER RENEWAL ACT", on Monday, December 1st 2003, on behalf of the Committee on Rules, and pursuant to its Monday, December 1st 2003 recommendations, by general consent:
There were four (4) Members (Matthews, Moody, Spencer, Stephenson) present.
There were two (2) Members (Efe, Price) absent.
A quorum was present.
The following officials were also present: Fabricius, Tatum
To fast-track the Elsevier Renewal Act.
The Faculty Senate should adopt a similar resolution. This provides support for the libraries in ending negotiations with a provider that insists on increasing the cost of service.
The committee recommends this rule by consent.
