RESOLUTION 25

Chairman Ken Hoy, Dr. submitted the following report regarding Resolution 25, "AN ACT IN SUPPORT OF A RESOLUTION URGING THE ESTABLISHMENT OF A BACHELOR OF ARTS DEGREE IN BUSINESS GERMAN AT NORTH CAROLINA STATE UNIVERSITY", on Tuesday, August 31st 2004, on behalf of the Academics Committee, and pursuant to its Sunday, August 29th 2004 recommendations, by general consent:

As provided by Senate Rule 14(b), the committee requests that the Senate President place Resolution 25 on the calendar for second reading.

Attendance:

There were six (6) Members (Buffkin, Cobb, Hinton, Hoy, James, Webb) present.

There was one (1) Member (Colson) absent.

A quorum was present.

The following officials were also present: Cleary, Fabricius, Hutcherson

Debate:

The debate was very positive and all questions concerning the bill were answered in a satisfactory manner.

Recommendations:

The Academics Committee gives this piece of legislation its full support by consent. The Academics Committee recommends that the Senate pass this bill.

Committee Amendments:

Add Senator Tracy Hutcherson as a co-sponsor of the bill.
