APPROPRIATIONS BILL 87

Chairman Erich M. Fabricius submitted the following report regarding Appropriations Bill 87, "A BILL TO BE ENTITLED AN ACT TO REALLOCATE FUNDING FOR THE APPROPRIATIONS PROCESS ", to the Student Senate on Saturday, April 1st 2006, on behalf of the Finance Committee, and pursuant to its Wednesday, March 29th 2006 recommendations, by general consent:

Attendance:

There were five (5) members (Douglas, Fabricius, Moye, Saunders, Sawrey) present. There was also one (1) non-voting member (Toms) present.

There were two (2) members (Sevits, J. Washington) absent. There was also one (1) suspended member (Mckethan) absent.

The following officials were also present: Compton, Griggs, F. Hinton, Walton, Yasin.

A quorum was present.

Purpose of Legislation:

Provided for the reallocation of unspent funds to the student organization appropriations.

Background Information:

At the time of this bill's introduction, the committee was at work with a simple reallocation initiative, which became Appropriations Bill 97, the Precision Spending Act. This bill was reported and later enacted. Accordingly, the Funding for Appropriations Reallocations Act is redundant.

Debate:

There was no debate.

Recommendations:

The committee recommends no further action be taken on the Funding for Appropriations Reallocations Act.
