Committee Minutes, Sunday, April 2nd 2006

Secretary Stephanie Griggs submitted the following report to the Student Senate on Monday, April 3rd 2006, on behalf of the Government Operations Committee, and pursuant to its Sunday, April 2nd 2006 recommendations:

Attendance:

There were six (6) members (Griggs, Heath, Hutcherson, Norman, K. Phillips, Yasin) present.

There were two (2) members (Gula, Walton) absent.

The following official was also present: Fabricius.

A quorum was present.

Meeting Overview:

Last Government Operations Meeting for the 85th Session. The committee reviewed GB 106 and GB 148.

Meeting Minutes:

GB 106:
Senator Fabricius introduced the text for GB 106. He later moved to insert the Fabricius amendment into GB 106 which was seconded by Senator Hutcherson. This passed with a voice vote.

GB 148:
This legislation was discussed and the final version was written in committee.

Senator Hutcherson thanks each member of the committee for their actions throughout the session and appreciates the time they gave in regards to the punitive matters. He asks that the incoming committee members of Government Operations review all of the reports and legislation that has come through the committee and reflect upon their outcome and hopefully gain a better insight into the process of this committee.
