Committee Minutes, Friday, February 10th 2006

Secretary Jessica Caroline Collins submitted the following report to the Student Senate on Friday, February 10th 2006, on behalf of the Committee on the Budget, and pursuant to its Friday, February 10th 2006 recommendations:

Attendance:

There were six (6) members (Adams, Collins, Fabricius, Griggs, Kelly, Saunders) present. There was also one (1) non-voting member (Toms) present.

There were no members absent.

The following official was also present: Watts.

A quorum was present.

Meeting Minutes:

I. Consideration of Graduate Advisor position in the SG office
a. Guest speaker Tierza Watts to discuss possibilities
-Wants us to consider have a full time advisor (masters or doctoral students) that would work with all the branches of SG, so that all branches have the same advisor. This happens at many other campuses across the country.
-There is a job description already and there is money to provide for a part time grad student until money can be provided for a full time student. To answer questions, attend meetings and provide support.
II. Update on the status of the budget proposal scheduled for Sunday

III. Further discussion of Judicial Board financing
a. waiting for a decision before discussion

VI. Scheduling of interviews for Judicial Branch, Executive Branch, etc.
a. one meeting for each group
