Committee Minutes, Wednesday, August 29th 2007

Chairman Matthew Potter submitted the following report to the Student Senate on Tuesday, September 25th 2007, on behalf of the Campus Community Committee, and pursuant to its Wednesday, August 29th 2007 recommendations:

Attendance:

There were six (6) members (J. Davis, Dawkins, Friel, Miller, M. Potter, Rose) present.

There were no members absent.

The following official was also present: Alston.

A quorum was present.

Meeting Overview:

Met with Bobby about WITH Ambassadors. We agreed to send a Senate representative to the next WITH training session. We discussed ideas to improve WITH program from better defined roles, sending Mr. Wuf out with volunteers, getting the band involved, and better free materials.

We discussed the "safe ride bus." Sen. Donnely talked about ECU bus routes, UNCW subsidized taxi. Sen. Compton talked about business and apartment complexes willing to sponsor/advertise with a party bus. We discussed using 15 passenger vans from campus to apartment complexes. Discussed Davidson College's "No Questions Asked" service.

Tickets and Ticketing. Discussed problems with long lines and limited entrances for tudents. Will talk with Dick Christy, Captain Barnwell, and Dr. Stafford.

Guest officials included Sens. Compton, Donnely, Schweitzer and Sen. Emeritus Hankins.
