APPROPRIATIONS BILL 50

President Pro Tempore Mike Alston submitted the following report regarding Appropriations Bill 50, "A BILL TO BE ENTITLED AN ACT TO ALLOCATE FUNDS TO REGISTERED STUDENT ORGANIZATIONS FOR THE FALL 2007 SEMESTER ", to the Student Senate on Wednesday, October 10th 2007, on behalf of the Committee on Appropriations, and pursuant to its Tuesday, October 9th 2007 recommendations:

As provided by Senate Rule, the committee requests that the Senate President place Appropriations Bill 50, on the calendar for second reading.

Attendance:

There were nine (9) members (Alston, P. Barnes, Chiang, Compton, Joyner, McCullough, M. Potter, Waldrup, Webb) present. There was also one (1) non-voting member (Foxx) present.

There were three (3) members (Friel, Gluck, Parnell) absent.

The following officials were also present: Gannon, Rogers, Rose.

A quorum was present.

Purpose of Legislation:

To appropriate money to registered student organizations.

Debate:

There was much. See minutes for motions and very general argumentation.

Recommendations:

We recommend the Senate pass the bill as written.
