Meeting Minutes:

I. Opening Remarks

II. Information Technology – To be determined *moved to next meeting due to personal reasons involving our liaison*

III. University Dining – Mr. Randy Lait
a. Information from IT
-later hours for dining?
Still in talks, but no specifics are known
- How are debit/credit cards operating?
no signed receipt for under $10; sales are a little lower than with the all campus card
b. R72 – Atrium Renovation Support Act
-Save two seconds/transaction by reducing the needed “key pushing”. Would reduce lines
-Could smaller cash register stands be brought in to increase output?
-Hire more employees to make waffle fries
-Atrium kitchen is dominated by Chik-fil-a. Sales demonstrate that $10000/$13000 of revenue per day is due to Chik-fil-a
-This summer, Architects will look at how the outside of the Atrium can be renovated
-Agreed that the Atrium needs to be renovated; however:
Centennial will not be able to withstand its population in three years.
Millions of dollars to fix heating/cooling in Fountain
Renovating C-store(s) across campus
Renovating Talley
-Knowing all these things, Dining has always saved money to build things (ex: Case) What would be the projected price for renovating Atrium and building on Centennial? Money may have to be borrowed to build. IF THE OPERATIONS THEMSELVES DO NOT GENERATE ENOUGH REVENUE TO PAY BACK THE BORROWED, IT ISN’T WORTH IT.
-Is there enough support to rebuild?

iii.Vote
-Change line 7 to read 11-3; called for since more than 50% of business occurs in the lunch hours
- REVISED, NC State Student Senate supports the renovation of the Atrium to service more students …
-RESOLVED that both dining and the NCSU Libraries look into reopening access from the library to the atrium.
-RESOLVED, that the student senate supports University dining continued research on the Atrium renovations

-Amendments passed by consent.
-Bill passes to report favorably
