Committee Minutes, Tuesday, March 25th 2008
Secretary Ashleigh Davis submitted the following report to the Student Senate on Wednesday, March 26th 2008, on behalf of the University Affairs Committee, and pursuant to its Tuesday, March 25th 2008 recommendations:
There were six (6) members (A. Davis, Demanovich, Howard, Robinson, Trickel, Webb) present.
There were two (2) members (Ellis, Womack) absent.
The following official was also present: Roscoe.
A quorum was present.
Final meeting for the 87th session. R71 and R75 were discussed

Joe Sevits suggested Vice Provost Susan Nutter from library, due to her commitment to involving students in the development of the Hunt Library, and improvements to DH Hill. Senator Howard nominated Susan Nutter. Trickle moved to close nominates, it passed by consent.
Jenny Chang Award discussion, Dining (Webb), Athletics (Morgan), Susan Nutter (Howard), Dr Conway (Roscoe) and Dr Hunt (Joyner)
Athletics was removed from consideration by consent.

University Dining, and Vice Provost Susan Nutter will be the nominations for the Jenny Chang award.
R75 Building Abbreviation, Guest Joseph Sevits spoke on the bill, R&R will be revamping their software (for 09-10) to allow for the full name of the building to appear on the student course schedule. A number of points were raised regarding pack portal, the Mr. Sevits suggested we present all the changes suggested about pack portal to the pack portal committee and focus on the bill at hand.
All resolve clauses were removed be consent, and new clauses were drafted.
3 amendments to change the nature of the bill all were proposed all passed by consent.
The committee voted to report the bill favorably to the Senate, the motion was passed by consent.
R71 was discussed along with a shell resolution, A resolution was passed to change IST to OED
It was decided that the bills would remain two separate bills, The unnumbered bill was reported favorably to the Senate by consent, with an intent to fast track the bill before the Senate adjourned.
