Committee Minutes, Wednesday, February 18th 2009

Chairman Sarah Lindh submitted the following report to the Student Senate on Wednesday, February 25th 2009, on behalf of the Government Operations Committee, and pursuant to its Wednesday, February 18th 2009 recommendations:

Attendance:

There were three (3) members (Chiang, Lindh, Jacquelyn Smith) present.

There were two (2) members (Brackett, D. Johnson) absent.

A quorum was present.

Meeting Overview:

Government Operations met to interview and confirm 14 candidates and also review the Moraven Expulsion Act for 2nd reading and introduce the Graphic Designer legislation up for 1st reading.

Confirmations that were not approved:

SR 41: (Tingen) for Judicial Assistant- not confirmed because he/she did not attend confirmation meeting.

SR 50: (Jones) for Elections Commission- Raven Jones was not confirmes because she did not attend confirmation meeting.

SR 53: (Vice) for Elections Commission- Megan Vice was not approved for confirmation because of her close affiliation with current candidates who were planning on running.
