Fall 2009 Elections Timeline:

Since the introdution of the Instant Runoff Voting system, there will be no runoff elections. Also, voting is only one day.

Spring 2009 Elections Timeline:

  • Elections Filing Period
    • Books Open: February 18th, 2009 @ 10:00AM
    • Books Close: February 24th, 2009 @ 11:59PM
  • All Candidates Meeting: Thursday, February 26th, 2009 @ 6:00PM
  • Official Campaigning Begins: Tuesday, March 10, 2009 @ 12:00AM
  • General Election: Tuesday, March 24, 2009 @ 12:00AM - 11:59PM

§7-4.18. Official Campaign Start.

  • (a) No individual person, candidate, campaign staff or supporter shall host mass events, display any form of campaign publicity, or further the interests of said candidacy, which may include but not be limited to mass flyering, handing out materials on campus, sandwich boards, chalking, or painting the Free Expression Tunnel, prior to two (2) weeks before Election Day.
  • (b) Pursuant to the letter and intent of Student Body Statutes §7-4.9 ("Campaign Emailing and Social Networks"), this regulation specifically excludes the creation and use of Facebook groups and websites.
  • (c) Any person found in violation of this section may be fined by the Elections Commission at a rate of $20.00 per day for each day campaign materials are up or events take place.

Fall 2008 Elections Timeline:

  • Books Close: Tuesday, September 2nd, 2008 @ 5:00pm
  • General Election: Tuesday March 25, 2008 @ 12:00 am to 11:59 pm
